About the role
Reporting to the Venue Management Team, the FOH Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day front of house operations of the Gladiators Experience at the Birmingham NEC.
A key guest-facing role, the FOH Supervisor will coordinate arrival and entry processes including Contender Registration, The Vault, The Kit Room, The Locker Room and Merchandise areas, ensuring a seamless, organised and welcoming experience from first arrival through to departure.
The FOH Supervisor will integrate all front of house functions, aligning guest services, retail and admissions operations to deliver a commercially successful and customer-focused operation. Providing guidance to the the team to ensure high service standards, efficient queue flow and a safe, inclusive and memorable experience for every guest
Responsibilities
Ensure arrival, admissions and guest flow are efficient run to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience
Oversee FOH operations including Contender Registration, Box Office, The Vault, The Kit Room, The Locker Room and Merchandise, ensuring each area is fully staffed and show-ready
Coordinate the Customer Service Team, including scanning and wristbanding assistants, Contender Registration Assistants, Vault/Meet and Greet Assistants, Hero Booth team members and Merchandise staff.
Ensure efficient ticket scanning, wristband distribution and registration processes for a smooth entry procedure
Oversee operations within The Vault, including Gladiator Stat Cards, meet and greet experiences and the Hero Booth, ensuring high energy delivery and strong commercial performance
Monitor queue flow and guest movement across all FOH touchpoints, minimising wait times while maintaining an engaging atmosphere
Assist with guest queries or complaints within FOH, resolving issues professionally and escalating when needed
Following instruction from the Venue manager and Assistant Venue Manager, brief the team on show needs to maintain exceptional customer service and consistent brand delivery
Ensure all FOH operations comply with Health and Safety procedures, cash handling policies and audit requirements, maintaining a safe, organised and commercially efficient environment
About you
ESSENTIAL
Extensive experience as a Venue Supervisor, or Operations Coordinator preferably within a large capacity venue or within the events industry
Demonstrable experience coordinating FOH operations in high pressure and live operating environments
Proven ability to assist management teams in high customer throughput environments
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Strong understanding of the importance of following H&S procedures
Clear, confident communicator, both written and verbal
Passionate about delivering high quality customer service with a strong customer focus approach
Flexible availability with the ability to be on-site for all events including on evenings and weekends
DESIRABLE
Experience with participatory or physical interactive attractions
Experience supervising teams on family focussed events
Rate
Rate dependent on experience and will be discussed at the offer stage.
Any sickness, holiday or any other absence will be taken as unpaid leave and will be deducted from this monthly figure, based on a pro rata figure.
Agreement Type & Length
Freelance agreement until the end of August 2026.
Applicants will need to be available across the below periods, working on a rotating shift basis in line with live show days.
Onsite training will be between 24th April – 1st May
Live show dates will be from 1st May 2026 through June and July and run until the end of August.
Live show days increase during Spring Bank Holiday and from mid July through to the end of August, with shifts rotating across the week (including weekends and evenings)

Onsite working days will be carried out at the NEC Arena in Birmingham.
Please note that accommodation is not provided, therefore applicants must be local to Birmingham or have accommodation available to them throughout the duration of the agreement.
Working Hours
Onsite hours vary in length but are generally 8:30am – 18:45pm (this will also include weekends)
